JCCL, Inc. has signed a joint development agreement with Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and Sakura Kogyo Co., Ltd. to begin studies aimed at developing an energy‑efficient CO₂ capture system and building a business model that can be easily adopted by small and medium‑sized enterprises (hereinafter “SMEs”).

The CO₂ capture system being developed through this cross‑industry collaboration combines amine‑containing gel technology—which captures CO₂ from relatively high‑concentration gases such as combustion exhaust from factories—with energy‑saving operation using waste heat, as well as pretreatment technologies for removing NOx (nitrogen oxides) and SOx (sulfur oxides). By making the plant more compact and integrating it with other solutions, the project aims to create a model that is easy for SMEs to implement.


JCCL began collaborating with Toyo Seikan Group Holdings and Mitsui Bussan Plastics in March 2025 to accelerate the early social implementation of CO₂ separation and capture technologies. In addition, the company started collaboration with Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. in September of the same year to advance business development utilizing CO₂ separation and capture technology.

As a new initiative, JCCL has now launched a partnership with Yamaha Motor and Sakura Kogyo to develop a CO₂ capture system specifically designed for SMEs. Development of the CO₂ capture system will take place at Yamaha Motor’s hydrogen‑related demonstration facility, ZERO BLUE LAB Mimori, located in Morimachi, Shizuoka Prefecture. The project plans to complete a large‑scale system and finalize the feasibility study (FS) by the end of July 2027. Afterwards, insights gained through demonstration testing will be continually fed back into the business model, advancing validation and enabling a phased rollout toward social implementation.
